“Caprice Viennois” by Fritz Kreisler, one of the most important violinists and composers of the 20th century, is the focus of this evening. Kreisler, once a child prodigy at the Vienna Conservatory, fascinated generations with his unmistakable style. His works reflect the highs and lows of his eventful life.
Conductor Daniel Auner, himself inspired by Kreisler, will shine as a virtuoso soloist on a Guadagnini violin from the collection of the Austrian National Bank. Together with other musical highlights – including the “Monti Csárdás” – and the timeless melodies of Mozart, Strauss and Lehár, this evening will be a celebration of Viennese musical tradition.
