Mozart performed several concerts in the “Sala Terrena”, Vienna’s oldest concert hall with its magnificent frescoes.

The Mozart Ensemble performs in historical costumes from the 18th century. The program consists mainly of works from the so-called “Viennese classical period”. This refers to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert and Ludwig van Beethoven.
The concerts in the Mozarthaus last 75 to 90 minutes with a 10-minute interval, depending on the time of year.
The Sala Terrena in the Mozarthaus is the oldest concert hall in Vienna. It is said that Mozart himself was delighted by its acoustics and intimate atmosphere. Archbishop Colloredo commissioned several works for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart here.
These historic concert halls all have a rich tradition and history in classical music and are a perfect combination for the large orchestra of the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra.
Like most historic concert venues in Vienna, the Sala Terrena does not have numbered seats. You will be seated within your category by the evening staff or you can choose the seats within the category yourself. The box office opens 30 minutes before the concert begins. We recommend being on time.
There is no special dress code.
The Mozart Ensemble is a string quartet with 2 violins, 1 viola and a cello. The members of the Mozart Ensemble have performed in many world-famous orchestras and the ensemble itself has also appeared in several documentaries about the life and work of Mozart.
The Mozart Ensemble performs as a string quartet on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Tuesdays and Thursdays as a piano trio.
You can cancel your tickets up to 24 hours before the start of the concert.
There are four small steps to the concert hall, and the evening staff are always happy to help.
