What is special about the St. Anna Church concerts?

The St. Anna Church combines exceptional acoustics with the magnificent elegance of the Baroque era, creating an incomparable atmosphere for classical concerts. The intimate setting and the authentic timbres of historical instruments lend a special depth to the works of Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven and other Viennese composers. The talented musicians at St. Anna Kirche, who learned their craft at renowned European music academies, regularly play in prestigious Viennese orchestras and bring their artistry to this unique concert series. The program consists mainly of pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven. On selected days, Franz Schubert’s greatest chamber music work “Death and the Maiden” is performed on period instruments.

The concert in St. Anna’s Church lasts 70 minutes, without an interval.

The St.-St. Anna Church is located in Vienna’s first district and is considered one of the most beautiful Baroque churches in the city. The church was built as early as 1518 and in 1897 the “Oblates of St. Francis de Sales” took over the services in the church and later also obtained the ownership rights. The entire interior was refurbished under Christoph Tausch and is perfect for church concerts. Orchestra also performs at the Vienna State Opera.

Like most historic concert venues in Vienna, St. Anna Church does not have numbered seats. There is free choice of seats within the category. The box office opens 30 minutes before the concert begins. We recommend being on time.

There is no special dress code, but please respect the church.

The Classic Exclusive Ensemble and the Aeon Quartet are both string quartets. On selected days, the ensemble plays on historical instruments from the 18th century.

It is not possible to replace tickets that are not used or only partially used, e.g. due to a late arrival or for lost tickets.
