St. Charles Church - located just a few hundred meters from the place where Mozart died - is one of the most impressing and significant buildings in Vienna. Every Saturday between March and December, it presents itself as the ideal location to perform Mozart's last work - the REQUIEM.

The concerts are performed by the choir and the soloists of the Salzburg Concert Society as well as Orchestra 1756 (on period instruments). All together there are more than 40 musicians on stage. Mozart Requiem at St. Charles Church - What to expect:

The concert:
The Mozart Requiem at St. Charles Church duration is between 65 and 75 minutes, with no break. The Requiem, Mozart’s last work, will be performed by the Orchestra 1756 on historical instruments. There are many myths surrounding the Requiem and no better place to “feel” this impressive work by Mozart than in the St. Charles Church.

The venue:
... St. Charles Church in Vienna was built in 1737 is one of the most impressive buildings in Vienna and one of the most important churches north of the Alps. Antonio Vivaldi was buried here and it has become a center for historical performances for works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Vivaldi.

Seating:
Like most of the historical concert locations in Vienna, the St. Charles Church has no numbered seats. There is free seating within the category. The evening box opens 30 minutes before the concert starts. We advise to be on time.

Dresscode:
There is no dress code, but please respect the church.

Orchestra Size and cast of the Mozart Requiem at St. Charles Chruch:
The Orchestra 1756 has more than 40 musicians, including the choir and the soloists of the Salzburg Concert Society.
